Description
Nos 198 and 200 Hagley Road are an early 19th-century pair of semi-detached houses that were originally designed to be symmetrical. They are constructed of brick and topped with a slate roof. The houses are two storeys high and consist of eight bays, with the outer two bays being advanced and featuring pediments.
On the ground floor, there is a window with a cornice supported by brackets. The entrance to No 198 is located at the angle within an open porch that has guilloche decoration in the frieze. Following this, there are four additional windows with cornices on brackets, and the entrance to No 200 is similarly positioned in the angle. At the end, there is a later canted bay window with a slate roof.
The first floor has six windows with stucco lintels, one in each bay except for those above the entrances. To the left and right of this arrangement are linking walls that connect to two-storey coach houses. The coach house for No 198 features a broken pediment, a broad segmental arch, and a small window above, while the coach house for No 200 has been altered.
