Description

Nos 679 and 681 on Pershore Road are a pair of semi-detached houses built around 1840. They are constructed of stucco and have a slate roof. The houses are two storeys high and feature six bays. The ground floor has bonded rustication with a pattern of alternating windows and doors. The doors are topped with rectangular fanlights and are flanked by Tuscan pilasters that support an entablature with a shallow pedimented blocking course. The windows are sash style, set in moulded eared surrounds, and there is a moulded band running along the building. On the first floor, the sash windows are also within moulded surrounds and have panelled aprons, with the windows above the doors being narrower and eared. Notably, No 679 has replaced its outer windows with canted bay windows from around 1900.
