Description
These are two pairs of semi-detached houses located on Pershore Road, dating from around 1830. They are situated either side of a low wall incorporating stable entrances and smaller doors. The houses are constructed of stucco with slate roofs and designed in a Grecian style.
Each pair has two storeys and four bays. The ground floor features banded rustication, with a window, a pair of doors topped with fanlights and flanked by pilasters supporting a shallow pediment featuring acanthus brackets and a small wreath, followed by another window. The first floor contains four windows, resting on a sill band with intermittent brackets resembling acanthus leaves. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars; those on the ground floor are slightly taller than those on the first floor. They are set within plain surrounds with shallow pediments, ornamented with small wreaths on brackets that are slightly different on each floor.
Number 929 has later marginal glazing to the windows. Number 921 has been re-roofed and now features a modern doorcase and replacement windows, some of which have shutters. Number 923 has been rendered and has lost its ground floor rustication, doorcase, and window pediments. Numbers 921 and 923 are now listed for group value only, as their original coupled door surround has been removed.
