Description

This stable block, located approximately 20 meters east-north-east of Packwood House, is a Grade II listed barn that has been converted into a stable. It likely dates from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and an addition in the early 20th century for Graham Baron Ash. The building is constructed from 19th-century brick and features an old plain-tile roof. It has a three-bay range with two plank double carriage doors at segmental-headed openings on the left and center. To the right, there are two 2-light casements with segmental brick heads, and a glover is positioned to the left of center. The left return showcases red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond, and there is a painted sundial panel on the gable end of the left return. The rear of the building exhibits large timber framing with brick infill. Inside, there is a Queen-post roof. Attached to the right are early 20th-century garages.
