Description
The conservatory, located 7 yards south of The Abbey, was built in 1770 and is constructed from sandstone ashlar. It features a pitched glazed roof supported by a cast iron structure. The building is rectangular, with seven bays on the south side and three bays on both the east and west gabled end elevations. It has a plinth and the two gabled end walls, along with the south elevation, showcase a series of tall round-headed windows with glazing bars. The windows have moulded heads with keyblocks, and between them are pilasters that support an entablature with a dentil cornice and a parapet topped with ball finials. There is a central doorway on the south side, while the north wall is blank except for two round-headed windows, one on the left and one on the right.
