Description

Nos 12 and 16 Castle Street, dating from 1781, are located on the west side of the street and were formerly listed as Nos 12, 14, and 16. No 12 now incorporates No 14 and abuts No 10. This building is likely a 16th-century range of two-storey dwellings featuring heavy square timber framing with some diagonal bracing. The infill consists of colourwashed brickwork. The windows have metal casements with diagonal leaded lights and renewed oak mullioned frames, while the doors are modern. The roof is covered with old tiles. Nos 10, 12, 16, and 20 form a group.
