Description

15 and 17 Russell Terrace are a pair of houses dating to around 1830, with later additions and alterations including bay windows from the late 19th century. They are constructed of pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facades, and have a Welsh slate roof to the left and cement tiles to the right.

The houses are two storeys with attics, displaying four windows on the first floor. They retain a plinth, surmounted by two full-height Tuscan pilasters at each end and from the first floor to the centre, along with a frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The first-floor windows are a mix of 8/8 and 2/2 sashes set in plain reveals and sills. The ground floor features central entrances with steps leading to part-glazed doors, contained within a shared, pedimented surround flanked by Tuscan pilasters. Canted bay windows incorporate 2/2 sashes between 1/1 sashes, with sills; the left-hand bay incorporates a frieze and cornice. The roof has roof lights, and tall end stacks with cornices.

The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
