Description
Number 80 and its attached railings date from the early 19th century, with later alterations. The house is built of reddish-brown brick with stuccoed front and side facades, the front being painted. It has a concealed roof and cast-iron railings and a balcony.
The house is three storeys high with a basement, and has three bays, the central bay projecting to full height. The second floor has pilaster strips at each end, resting on anthemion corbels. The first and second floors feature 2/2 sash windows; the first-floor windows are taller and have sidelights, and the central first-floor window has a moulded architrave, frieze, and cornice. A blind opening is visible to the right; to the left and right of the openings, there are larger recesses. The second floor has a sill to the centre, with moulded sills to the left and right. A moulded cornice above is followed by a low parapet with copings. The ground floor has a tripartite window centrally, with a 1/1 sash flanked by narrower 1/1 sashes. Entrance is provided by a flight of five roll-edged steps leading to a four-panel door with an overlight, set within a pilastered porch. End stacks rise from the roof. A double-heart-and-anthemion motif balcony is positioned centrally on the first floor.
The interior of the building was not inspected during the listing process.
Attached area railings and gates, featuring spear-head finials, flank the steps.
