Description

The Grange is a house that was formerly a rectory, built in the mid-18th century. It features a stuccoed brick exterior and a hipped roof covered with renewed tiles, designed in an H-plan with a lower service wing on the left side.

The building has two storeys and a three-window range. The central part has a plain parapet, and the round-headed entrance is framed by an architrave with imposts and a key block, topped with a fanlight that has radial glazing bars above a single-panel door. The entrance is sheltered by a round-headed hood supported by slender brackets and later posts. On either side of the entrance, there are truncated lozenge-shaped windows. On the first floor, there is a segmental-headed 3/3 sash window with a sill and a brick arch. The advanced bays on either side each contain one 8/8 sash window on both floors, set within moulded frames. There are two lateral stacks on the roof. The service wing features a catslide outshut, an entrance with a six-flush-panel door that has two glazed panels, and a gabled dormer with a two-light leaded casement window.

The left return includes two lateral stacks and a single-storey stone range. The rear of the building has a brick cornice and an entrance to the left of the centre, which has an overlight with decorative glazing bars and a small-paned half-glazed door within an altered porch. To the right, there is a tripartite sash window with a configuration of 4:12:4 panes. The left wing features a small-paned bowed window, while the right wing has a French window, each with a 16-pane sash window above. On the first floor, there are two windows with 12-pane horned sashes, and one window on the inner return to the left, which has a small dormer above. The right return has a cross-axial stack and a small window with leaded glazing.

The interior has not been inspected.
