Description
The former barn and stables, located immediately north-west of The Grange, date from the 17th or early 18th century. The building features a timber-frame structure with brick infill set on a rubble plinth, along with some brick and weatherboarding, topped by a hipped tile roof.
The exterior is single-storey and consists of a three-bay range. There is a large entrance with 20th-century doors positioned to the right of the center. The right end of the building is constructed of brick and includes a stable door with a shuttered pitching hole above it, as well as a small window to the right. The left end has a 20th-century lean-to entrance featuring garage doors, along with a segmental-headed entrance to the left and a small window above. Ventilation holes are present throughout.
On the left side, there is a pointed blind recess in the brick wall, while the right side displays exposed timber-frame with tension braces. The rear of the building is weatherboarded and also features exposed timber-frame with a tension brace on the left end.
Inside, the barn is noted for having a timber-framed cross wall and a chamfered beam.
