Description

Oversley Bridge is a bridge that is said to date from 1600 on its south side. It was later widened, probably in the 18th century, on the north side. The bridge is constructed of regularly coursed lias stone, with some brick on the south side. The arches are partly brick, and the western section is entirely brick. The parapet features 18th or early 19th century red brick and late 19th or early 20th century blue brick. One of the main arches has been replaced with concrete. The bridge has three main arches and two subsidiary arches on each side, creating a humpback profile. The south side includes one cutwater and the remains of another.
