Description
Thrush Green Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with a late 20th-century addition, located on Alcester Mill Lane in Oversley Green. The building features a timber frame with lath and plaster and whitewashed brick infill, along with a thatched roof and a brick ridge stack. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it has been extended to a three-unit L-plan. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and has a one-window range. The entrance includes a late 20th-century door with a thatched hood. The windows are irregularly placed, featuring 19th and 20th-century casements with glazing bars, and there is a swept dormer in the attic. The right side of the cottage displays jowled posts and framed gables, which are underbuilt with whitewashed brick, while the rear shows exposed framing. The timber-framed addition on the left maintains the building line and style, using old timbers with plaster infill, and includes two ground-floor windows and a swept dormer. The left return side and rear also exhibit exposed framing. Inside, the cottage retains 17th-century and late 20th-century exposed framing, along with a late 20th-century open fireplace.
