Description
Lower Oversley Lodge is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century to early 18th century, with an early 19th-century front range. The rear is constructed from lias rubble, while the front range features roughcast brick and a wood modillion cornice. The building has a tile roof and brick ridge stacks, with a double-depth plan. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. The entrance includes a six-panelled part-glazed door with a fanlight that has glazing bars, a panelled intrados, and a reeded arched wood surround. The windows are 16-pane sashes with moulded wood surrounds, spaced unevenly, and there is a painted blind window on the right side of the first floor. To the left is a 19th-century single-storey wing made of whitewashed brick, featuring a brick dentil cornice. The right return side has two gables; the left side is brick with sashes, while the right side is lias with an angle buttress and late 20th-century windows. At the rear, there are large external stacks with a brick shaft on the left and a large gable on the right, along with a lower brick wing to the right. The fenestration at the rear is irregular and from the late 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
