Description
There are three chest tombs located approximately 15 meters southwest of the south porch of the Church of St Michael and All Angels in Claverdon. These tombs date from the mid-18th century and are constructed from brick and sandstone ashlar. Each chest measures approximately 2 meters long, 1 meter wide, and 1 meter high. They are rectangular in shape and topped with slabs that have moulded edges. One tomb is dedicated to Samuel Fox, a yeoman who died in 1760, and features two fielded inscription panels on its sides. Another tomb belongs to Aaron Cox, also a yeoman, who died in 1764. The third chest has an eroded inscription. These tombs are part of a group that includes the Church of St Michael and All Angels.
