Description
Tally-Ho and Beam End is a house, now divided into two houses, dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century re-fronting and a rear outshut. The building features pinkish-orange brick at the ends and pinkish-brown brick on the front facade, laid in stretcher bond, with some small timber-framing on the right gable end and a plain-tile roof. It has a three-unit, lobby-entrance plan.
The exterior is single-storey with attics and has a four-window range. The ground floor has off-centre entrances with part-glazed and plank doors beneath gabled hoods that have decorative bargeboards. There are three casement windows under cambered arches, each with moulded brick hoodmoulds. The gabled roof includes four gabled dormers fitted with casement windows and decorative bargeboards. There is a clustered off-centre ridge stack and a stack at the rear left.
Inside, the ground floor features chamfered beams, with the beam to the right having an ogee stop. There are remains of timbering on the left side, and a staircase is located beside the stack. In the center, there is an inglenook fireplace with a chamfered bressumer beam and studding on the left wall.
