Description
This is a row of six headstones located approximately 14 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. Mary. The headstones date from the late 17th century and early 18th century and are made of carved ironstone.
The first headstone, from the early 18th century, features a top with a small cartouche and shrouded heads, along with a large convex cartouche. The second headstone, also early 18th century, has a top with a winged head and swag, and an oval wreathed panel. The third headstone, dating from the late 17th to early 18th century, is topped with a broken segmental pediment and a ball finial, and includes Corinthian half-columns draped with swag and a fielded panel. The fourth headstone, from the early 18th century, has a segmental top with a scrolled pediment and rosette, along with pilasters. The fifth headstone, dated 1695, features a shaped top with an incised winged head and a panel in shallow relief. Finally, the sixth headstone, from the early 18th century, has a segmental top with a small cartouche and winged heads, along with a large convex cartouche.
