Description
West View is a house with an attached wall, built in 1668 and altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone and features a slate roof with coped gable parapets and a large central stone stack with a blue brick shaft. The house has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high, with a two-window range. The entrance is located at the rear. The building has mullioned windows throughout, including three-light windows with 19th-century lights; the left ground floor window has been lengthened and features 17th-century hood moulds. There is a datestone with the initials WH. The right side of the house has a four-light window and a three-light window. At the rear, there is a central 20th-century part-glazed six-panelled door and additional two- and three-light windows. Another datestone with an arch on half columns and a cornice is present, though it is illegible. The attached wall on the right side dates from the 18th century and is made of regularly coursed ironstone with a coped top. The interior has not been inspected.
