Description
High House is a late 18th-century brick house built in Flemish bond, featuring a moulded stone eaves cornice. It has a plain-tile roof with brick ridge stacks and an L-shaped plan. The house is three stories high and has a two-window range with 16-pane sash windows that have rusticated stone lintels on the ground and first floors, and 6-pane sash windows with stone lintels on the second floor. The entrance is marked by a six-panelled door with a pilaster surround and an open pediment supported by consoles. At the rear, there is a long 18th-century brick range. To the left, there is a former coach house with a basket-arched opening that is now blocked, and a hayloft door is located on the left gable end. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
