Description
The Croft is a house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century on the right side, with a mid-19th century brick extension on the left. The 16th century section features a rendered stone ground floor and a jettied timber-framed first floor. It has decorative circular bracing on the front, close studding, herringbone studding, and large framing on the right facade. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has brick ridge and end stacks. The building is two stories high and has a five-window range, with three-light casements in the 19th century brick section and two-light casements in the 16th/17th century section. There is a four-panelled door. Inside, the 16th/17th century range includes ovolo-moulded cross beams and a large open fireplace with a chamfered timber bressumer and ogee stops.
