Description
Village Farmhouse is a mid to late 18th-century farmhouse that has been converted into two cottages, with a 19th-century extension added to the right. The building is constructed of brick in Flemish garden wall bond, with some timber framing at the rear. It features an offset dentilled eaves cornice and a plain-tile roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The layout is a four-unit through-passage plan, and the building is two stories tall with a four-window range that includes 19th and 20th-century three-light casements, with segmental-arched heads on the ground floor. There is a six-panelled door at the center, framed by a fluted pilaster surround and set within a 20th-century gabled timber porch. At the rear, there is a one-storey lean-to. Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams and two large open fireplaces. A 18th-century winder staircase leads to the first floor, and there is an 18th-century collar-truss roof with a stone stack visible. The ground floor is stone-flagged.
