Description
Ladbroke House is a late 18th-century brick house located on Banbury Road. The building features Flemish bond brickwork, a plinth, stone quoins, a stone storey band, and a bracketed eaves cornice. It has a slate roof that is hipped to the left, with brick ridge and end stacks. The house has a central-staircase plan and stands two storeys plus an attic. The front has a three-window range, with 16-pane sashes on the left and right, and a 12-pane sash in the centre of the first floor. All sashes are topped with brick flat arches and stone keyblocks. The central entrance has a panelled and glazed door with margin bars, sheltered by a flat hood supported on consoles, and is accessed by two stone steps. There is one gabled dormer, and a bay window on the left facade features a 12-pane sash with margin bars and is topped with a pediment. To the right and rear are 19th-century two-storey brick extensions, which include a six-panelled door. Inside, there is a straight-flight staircase with barley-sugar and fluted balusters, two for each tread, and four-panelled doors with brass knobs.
