Description
This barn and stableblock, located north of Mount Ash, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone with quoins and coped gables, while the left gable end is made of brick. The building has a slate roof and is likely composed of seven bays. The central section features large double plank doors with a wooden lintel. To the right, there is a stable door with a lintel and keyblock, surrounded by quoins. On either side of the central doors, there are ventilation slits with round heads. Above these, there are two-light wooden mullioned windows, each with a lintel and keyblock. Inside, the barn has a pegged queen strut roof with a collar, and 18th-century brick walls separate the barn from the stable. The barn also has a stone flagged floor, while the stable features a chamfered spine beam and joists with run-out stops. This building is included for its group value.
