Description
Oakapple Cottage is a 17th-century house located on Tysoe Back Lane in Middle Tysoe. It is constructed from coursed, squared ironstone and features quoins, as well as a coped left gable with kneelers. The roof is slate, with brick end and internal stacks. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is one storey plus an attic, with a two-window range.
On the left side, there is a 19th-century part-glazed door that has a wooden lintel, a stone hood mould, and label stops. To the right, there is a three-light stone mullioned window, also with a hood mould and label stops. Both the left and right sides feature gabled dormers, each containing a three-light leaded casement window.
Inside, the cottage has an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer that has stepped stops. A chamfered spine beam with stepped stops supports one end on a stone moulded corbel.
