Description

Home Farmhouse is a mid-17th century house, restored in the 19th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone with quoins and has coped gables with kneelers. The roof is slate, with a stone ridge and end stacks. The house has a three-unit plan and a three-window range. A 20th-century plank door is located centrally on the left-hand side, set within a renewed four-centred arch with a hood mould and label stops. There are 19th-century four-light stone mullioned windows with hood mould and label stops to the left, centre, and right of both floors. Two 19th-century gabled dormers with leaded lights are visible on the roof, one centrally and one to the centre right. An outshut is attached to the right, featuring mullioned windows and a coped gable. Inside, the kitchen range has stone flagged floors and brick ovens. The beams in the main range are said to be encased.
