Description
The former Wesleyan Chapel, built in 1865, is located on Chapel Lane in Ratley. This building is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone and features a plinth and quoins. The tile roof has gable parapets and kneelers, and the chapel is designed in a T-plan with slight transeptal projections on the left end, showcasing Gothic Revival style elements. It is a single-storey structure with a two-window range. The entrance, situated on the right, includes a plank door set in a chamfered arch and is accessed by a flight of stone steps. The chapel has two-light nave windows and three-light transept windows, with chamfered arches and intersecting and Y-tracery throughout. The stone in the transept gable is inscribed with 'Weslyan Chapel 1865'. The right return side features a two-light window, while the rear is similar to the front but has three-light nave windows and two-light transept windows. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
