Description

Goggles Spring Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with later alterations made in the late 18th to early 19th centuries, and a rear addition from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed ironstone and features a thatched roof, while the addition has a slate roof. There are brick stacks at the ends and along the ridge from the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottage has a three-unit plan that has been extended to form an L-shape with a wing on the left at the rear. It is one storey high with an attic and has a one-window range. The entrance, located between the first and second bays, features a ribbed plank door with a stone lintel, and there is a thatched open porch that extends from the roof. The ground floor has three casement windows with painted wand lintels, and there is an eyebrow dormer above. The rear of the cottage is irregular in shape, and the interior includes an open fireplace.
