Description
Church Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on Church Street in Ratley and Upton. It is built of regularly coursed ironstone with irregular quoins and features a slate roof with boxed eaves, along with 19th-century brick end and ridge stacks. The building has a T-plan layout, with a rear wing, and consists of two storeys and an attic, presenting a four-window range.
The entrance, located in the third bay, features a part-glazed six-panelled door and is sheltered by a 19th-century open timber porch that has a dentil cornice and a flat lead roof. The windows are primarily 16-pane sashes, with the first bay having a more widely spaced 16-pane casement on the ground floor. The openings are framed by irregular quoin surrounds and stone lintels that include keyblocks. The return sides of the building have two-light leaded attic casements with painted wood lintels.
At the rear, the fenestration is irregular, featuring leaded two-light staircase windows with two transoms and a door below. The lower wing includes 19th and 20th-century casements. The interior has not been inspected.
