Description
Mount Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 20th century. It is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone and features a concrete tile roof, along with three late 20th-century brick ridge stacks. The building has an indeterminate plan, possibly consisting of four units, and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a five-window range.
The entrance is located to the right of the centre and features a plank door with strap hinges set within a chamfered Tudor arch doorway, which retains remnants of a hood mould. The stone mullioned windows include some older examples with chamfered mullions in recessed surrounds, alongside mid to late 20th-century windows with plain mullions, all of which have hood moulds. The left end of the building has a small single-light window in a block surround, contributing to the irregular fenestration.
On the ground floor, to the left of the entrance, there are two three-light windows; the left window is from the 20th century, while the other is an original moulded fire window. To the right, there is an original three-light window and a small old casement with a wooden lintel. The first floor features three two-light windows that are wholly or largely renewed, as well as two original three-light windows, with two of the windows containing some coloured glass. The right return side includes a first-floor casement and a two-light mullioned attic window, while the rear elevation is irregular.
There are two entrances at the rear; one has an old plank door with a wooden lintel, and the other is a late 20th-century entrance featuring a half-glazed door with a chamfered stone lintel. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
