Description
The Old Rectory is an early 18th-century rectory, later converted into a house. It is constructed of rendered and colourwashed brick with a brick plinth, stone quoins, and a moulded stone storey band. The building has a hipped slate roof and brick end stacks. The original layout was based around a central staircase. The two-and-a-half-story facade has a five-window arrangement of twelve-pane sash windows, each with a rendered lintel and keyblock. A panelled and glazed door, with a matching overlight, is located in the centre, set within a 19th-century porch featuring further panelled and glazed doors. There are two gabled dormers in the roof. Additional twelve-pane sash windows and a large 19th-century bay window are present on the left side. An 18th-century and a 19th-century brick extension are attached to the right and to the rear of the building. The interior was not inspected but is likely to be of interest.
