Description
Bambi Cottage is a house located on Charlecote Road in Charlecote. It dates back to the 17th century, with additions made in the mid-20th century and in 1993. The cottage features a rendered timber-frame structure and a thatched roof with a round brick chimney at one end.
The building is single-storey with an attic and has a front gable that includes an entrance with a thatched hood over a plank door, along with a small window to the left. Each floor has a small window fitted with 20th-century leaded glazing. The left side of the cottage has a small window to the right of a large outshut added in 1993, which has a tiled roof and an entrance at the end, replacing an earlier outshut from the 20th century. The right side is similar but only features the left half of the elevation. The rear of the cottage displays exposed timber framing consisting of three by two panels, with trenched purlin ends to the collar truss and a ridge purlin set in a halved and crossed apex.
The interior has not been inspected but is noted to contain beams, a winding staircase, and an open fireplace with a timber bressumer.
