Farmhouse. Early C18 (pre-1746), incorporating C17 range to rear and former dairy. Reddish-brown brick with Welsh slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; 3-window range. Central gabled break-forward. Steps to central 6-panel, part-glazed door in wooden doorcase with plain pilasters, frieze and hood. Outer bays to ground and first floors have 8/8 sashes, first-floor centre bay has 6/6 sash; second-floor outer bays have 4/4 sashes, centre bay has blind round-arched opening, all with sills and flat arches of rubbed brick except to round-arched opening. Left return has blind openings to front bay. Left end stack. Roof hipped to front and with 2 gables to rear. INTERIOR: has chamfered beams with run-out stops, 6-fielded-panel and 6-panel doors. 3 Victorian cast-iron fireplaces. Thralls remain to dairy. Farm buildings around the yard at Brook House Farm consist of threshing barn (qv), pigsties (qv), cow house and pigeon house (qv), stable (qv) and cart shed (qv), all form a group.
