Description
No. 157 High Street in Henley-in-Arden is a Grade II listed building that consists of two houses now combined into one, incorporating the former No. 159. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later alterations. The structure is timber-framed with brick infill and has been refronted in painted brick. The roof is gabled and covered with renewed tiles, featuring a brick end stack at the rear of the ridge and another stack at the rear.
The building is a single storey plus attic and presents a symmetrical three-window façade. It has a top dentilled brick cornice. The entrance features an architrave surrounding a 20th-century door and is flanked by two canted bay windows, which contain 4/4, 8/8, and 4/4 sash windows, all linked by a flat roof that extends over the entrance. The first floor includes gabled half-dormers with 6/6 sash windows. The left side of the building reveals exposed square framing and includes a short rear wing.
The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have moulded ceiling beams.
