Description
The building at 149 and 151 High Street, Henley-in-Arden, is a late 18th-century house, which has since been divided into two separate residences. It is constructed of brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with a renewed tile roof, brick coped gables, and brick end and rear stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and a near-symmetrical two-window facade. A top modillioned brick cornice runs along the top of the building.
The main entrance, located to the right of centre (for No. 151), features an architrave surrounding a six-panelled door. To the left is a segmental-headed former passageway entrance, now with a 20th-century door. The ground floor has two canted bay windows flanking the main entrance. The window to the left has 2/2:8/8:2/2 sashes, while the window to the right has 1/1:2/2:1/1 sashes, with a frieze and cornice extending over the entire ground floor. The first floor windows have sills, and rubbed brick flat arches are above the 20th-century small-paned cross-casement window to the left and the 8/8 horned sash window to the right. The attic has hipped dormers, with 2-light leaded casements; the left dormer is renewed, while the right dormer features an iron opening casement. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
