Description

Two houses, at numbers 106 and 108 High Street, Henley-in-Arden, were built around 1800. They are now used as shops and offices. The houses are constructed of brick with a plastered front, and have a parapeted roof with brick ridges and end stacks. Each house has a central staircase plan.

The exterior presents three storeys, with a six-window range. A sill band runs along the first floor and a top frieze, cornice and parapet are prominent features. A throughway to the left of centre has a rusticated wedge lintel; the doors have been removed. A 20th-century shop front occupies the left side, while an early 20th-century double-fronted shop front is at the right end, featuring a recessed entrance with an overlight to a glazed door, a canopy and an angled fascia. A ground-floor window to the right of centre has a sill band and a 6/6 sash window. Similar windows are found on the upper floors, though the second-floor windows have 3/6 sashes. The rear elevation features windows with brick flat arches, along with 19th and 20th-century extensions.

The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
