Description

No. 9, John Street is a town house dating from the 1820s, located within the early 19th-century development of the northern part of Stratford-upon-Avon, known as New Town. The house is constructed of brick, with a slate roof and brick end stacks. It is of Georgian style and stands three storeys high with a two-window front. The eaves are plain. The round-headed entrance features moulded pilasters and a consoled open pediment above a three-panel door, which is topped by a fanlight with radial glazing bars. The windows have sills and rubbed and painted brick flat arches above 16-pane sashes on the lower floors, and 8-pane sashes to the second floor.
