Description

A pair of houses dating from around 1830, located in Stratford-upon-Avon. The houses are constructed of brick with buff brick detailing, and have slate roofs with brick chimney stacks. They are built in a Georgian style, with a symmetrical facade of three windows across three storeys. The top of the building features a brick cornice. Each house has a paired entrance with a doorcase featuring fluted pilasters with Greek-key capitals, a frieze, and a bracketed cornice, leading to six-panel doors. One door has two glazed panels. Segmentally headed windows have sills and contain twelve-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, and eight-pane sashes on the second floor. There are blind central windows on the upper floors, with painted sashes. The rear of the property has sashed windows and a single-story wing. These houses are part of the early 19th century development of the north side of Stratford, known as New Town.
