Description
Famington Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a steeply pitched slate roof with stone coped gables and brick end stacks on stone bases. The building has an L-plan layout, two storeys plus an attic, and a three-window range.
The entrance is located off-centre to the left and includes a moulded stone doorway with a partly-glazed panelled door. Flanking the entrance are a three-light wood casement window with a brick cambered head and a two-light stone mullioned window that has a hood mould and label stop. To the right, there is another three-light wood casement window with a wood lintel. Between the floors, a two-light stone mullioned stair window with a hood mould and label stops is present. On the first floor, there are two three-light casements with cambered brick heads and three gabled roof dormers. The left end of the building features a four-light and a two-light stone mullioned window, both with hood moulds and label stops.
Inside, the farmhouse includes stop-chamfered beams, an inglenook fireplace, a dog-leg staircase with a half-landing, and plank doors.
