Description
Cobwebs is a house dating from the late 17th century, with later restoration. It consists of two sections. The left part is built of coursed limestone rubble and regular coursed limestone rubble, with the left end featuring limestone banded with ironstone. The upper floor is rendered, and the stone slate roof is laid in diminishing courses. There is a massive axial stack situated between the two sections. The house is a single storey plus attic and has a total of three windows. The entrance is located at the rear. The street-facing elevation includes a wood mullioned window with a stone lintel and a small rectangular window with a wood lintel. The left end has 20th-century casements. The rear features a staircase projection and two plank doors.
The right part is constructed from regular coursed ironstone rubble and has a steeply pitched red tile roof. There is a stone slated semi-circular bread oven projection on the left side and a three-light stone mullioned window on the right with a hood mould and label stops. Additionally, there is a three-light wood mullioned gabled half-dormer. The rear has a semi-circular staircase projection and a lateral stack. The interior has not been inspected.
