Description
Old Timbers is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 17th century, with a range added to the north in the mid-19th century. The original part features timber-framing with brick nogging on the garden facade, while the later addition has pinkish-brown brick facades and a reddish brick facade. The roof is covered with plain tiles.
The main range is U-shaped in plan, likely consisting of a three-unit layout with an outshut at the rear under a catslide roof, and a rear range to which the later section has been added at right angles. The building is one storey and has an attic. The entrance to the rear range is a 20th-century plank door with glazing. To the left of the entrance is a two-light metal casement window with glazing bars, and to the right is another two-light casement window. There are two roof dormers, each with two-light casements featuring glazing bars. The building has a ridge stack and a larger stack on the outshut. The left gable end displays exposed timber-framing.
Inside, the property appears to have extensive timber-framing.
