Description
Greystones is a house located on Banbury Street in Kineton, dating from the 18th century with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed dressed limestone and some brick, topped with a steeply pitched renewed tile roof featuring renewed brick end stacks and a cross-axial stack. It has a three-unit plan with an addition at each end.
The exterior is single storey plus attic and features a three-window range, with a gabled single-storey wing projecting to the right of the center. The entrance, located to the left of center, has a doorcase with panelled pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice above a four-panel door. To the left end, there is a window with a wedge lintel and key above a renewed three-light small-paned casement. The building has two gabled dormers with barge-boards above two-light small-paned casements. The wing has an entrance on the left return, and a three-light small-paned casement with a tie-beam/lintel at the end. The right end has a large opening with a glazed door and side light, along with a window featuring a wedge lintel. The left return is plastered with brick on the gable and rear outshut, while the right return is made of 20th-century brick. The interior has not been inspected.
