Description
The Red Lion Inn is a public house dated 1748, featuring two stages of building. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with quoins and has artificial stone-slate roofs, complemented by stone and brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a five-unit plan and stands two storeys plus an attic. The façade includes a five-window range with 19th and 20th century two- and three-light casements, which are adorned with stone flat arches and wood lintels. There is a 20th century door with a stone flat arch located to the centre-right, alongside a 20th century bay window to the immediate left. A moulded datestone on the first floor right is inscribed in bas-relief: 'WW/1748'. Additionally, there is one 19th century gabled dormer. At the rear, there is a large early 19th century two-storey stone range and a 20th century one-storey range. Inside, the inn features chamfered spine beams.
