Description
This listing describes a group of a chest tomb, a headstone, and a row of four headstones located approximately 8 meters south of the southwest corner of the Church of St. Mary. The chest tomb dates from the late 18th century, while the headstones are from the late 17th century and early 18th century. They are made of moulded and carved ironstone.
The chest tomb features a moulded plinth, a projecting top, and shallow fielded panels. The headstone dated 1684 has a scrolled top adorned with two winged heads, a convex cartouche with a wreath, and flowers. Two early 18th-century headstones have a segmental top and a broken segmental pediment with a winged head, along with an entablature decorated with leaf scrolls. They also include composite half-columns and moulded fielded panels. An early to mid-18th-century headstone has a scrolled pediment and winged head, a fielded panel, and an indistinct patterned border.
