Description

16 and 18 High Street are a pair of shops built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick and feature a wooden box cornice with paired modillions. The buildings have a slate roof and no visible chimneys. They are designed in an L-shape and rise to three storeys with a two-window range. The contemporary shop fronts include paired entrances with late 20th-century glazed doors, bow windows, and a continuous fascia that also has paired modillions. There is a plank door on the left that leads to a through passage. On the upper floors, No. 16 has 16-pane sash windows, while No. 18 features 20th-century casement windows. The windows are topped with rendered flat arches that have keyblocks.
