Description
No. 9 Winderton is a late 16th-century house constructed from coursed squared blocks of ironstone. It features a steeply pitched 20th-century tile roof with stone coped gables and moulded kneelers, along with brick end stacks set on stone bases and ironstone quoins. The building has two storeys plus an attic and is laid out in a two-unit plan with a two-window range.
The entrance, located to the left, is partly blocked and has a 4-centred arched head with a chamfered soffit, a square hood mould, and a label stop, with an inserted 20th-century casement. The first floor showcases two 2-light stone-mullioned windows, each with hood moulds and label stops. Wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs are present. The right end of the house features a 3-light stone-mullioned window, which has one blocked light and label stops, along with a 2-light stone-mullioned attic window.
At the rear, the entrance is obscured by a 20th-century porch. The ground floor includes a 3-light stone-mullioned window and a 20th-century window, while the first floor has two 2-light stone-mullioned windows, all of which are adorned with hood moulds and label stops. The interior has not been inspected.
