Description

Edge Hill Farmhouse and attached outbuildings is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with 19th-century additions. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone and features a slate roof with ironstone end stacks and stone-coped gables on the left. The building has a moulded stone eaves cornice and an L-shaped plan. It is two storeys plus an attic and has a four-window range.

The entrance includes a part-glazed, four-panelled door set within a stone porch that has a slate roof. To the left on both the ground and first floors, there is a three-light wood casement window with a stone sill and lintel. In the centre and centre right of the first floor, there is an iron casement window with leaded lights and a wood lintel. To the right of the door, there is a four-light wood casement window with a concrete lintel, and to the far right, a two-light wood casement window with a stone sill and lintel. There is also a plank door on the far right with a stone lintel. A 19th-century gabled dormer is present in the roof.

Attached to the left is a late 18th-century outbuilding, with 19th-century extensions to the rear and left. The interior features stone flagged floors and some chamfered beams, and it is said to retain its original roof trusses.
