Description

Knightcote Manor House is a manor house that has been converted into a farmhouse. It dates from the mid to late 17th century, with some minor alterations from the 18th century. The building is constructed from ironstone ashlar and features a concrete tile roof with moulded coped gable parapets and moulded kneelers, along with 19th-century brick end stacks. The house has an H-plan layout, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a five-window range.

The symmetrical three-window centre includes a 19th-century four-panelled door with a moulded surround and a hood mould that steps down and continues across the flanking two-light windows. Most of the stone windows are recessed-chamfered mullioned with hood moulds. The two-light windows on the first floor have a continuous hood mould. The return sides of the wings feature four-light windows, with three-light windows above. The left wing has a splayed plinth, and the 16-pane sash windows have stone lintels with keystones. The right wing has two-light windows on the right side, while the left return side contains a 19th-century half-glazed door.

There is a moulded basket-arched doorway with a straight head, moulded spandrels, and a hood mould with lozenge stops. The ground floor has three-light windows that have been renewed, and the right return side has a two-window range, a plank door, and additional three-light windows, along with a small single light between floors and a fire window on the right. The rear of the house has a shallow recessed centre and irregular 19th-century windows. Inside, a room to the right features a stop-chamfered beam.
