Description
There are two chest tombs located approximately 10 meters south of the south aisle of the Church of St Peter in Welford-on-Avon. The tombs date from the late 17th century and late 18th century and are made of ashlar stone. The chest tomb to the north features a lozenge pattern on the balusters, round-headed end panels, and a moulded edge on the slab. Although the inscriptions are worn, one of them commemorates William and Ann Badson, who died in the 1690s. The chest tomb to the south has a moulded plinth and slab edge, with angle balusters and fielded panels. Its inscriptions are also worn, but one records Richard Badson, who died in 1792.
