Description
No. 6 Mows Hill Lane is a house, likely built around 1757, with later alterations. It features reddish-brown brick in stretcher bond and a gabled plain-tile roof. The building is single-storey with an attic and consists of a single cell, along with a single-storey outshut to the right.
The exterior includes a plank door located left of center, which is set under an elliptical arch. To the right of this door is a 20th-century casement window, also under an elliptical arch. There is another plank door to the right of the outshut. The eaves are dentilled, and there is a ridge stack at the right end. A small casement window is present at the rear right, and the right gable features a 2-light casement window under an elliptical arch.
Inside, there is an original staircase to the left. The main parlour contains an inglenook fireplace with a bressumer beam, and the ceiling has a chamfered beam with a chamfered stop. A plank door leading to the stairs has HL hinges. Above the entrance, there is a plaque inscribed 'No 6 GFM 1878'. This house forms a group with The Birches nearby.
