Description
Upper St Dennis Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble, with a brick extension on the right and a 20th-century extension on the left. The building features a steeply pitched tile roof with stone coped gables and brick end stacks. It stands two storeys plus an attic and has a five-window range. The central former entrance has a moulded and chamfered stone doorcase, which is now within a 20th-century bow window. To the left, there is a 2-light stone-mullioned window with an ovolo section and opening casements. The windows do not have hood moulds or label stops, and there is a flat band at the first floor level. The rear of the farmhouse includes a 16-pane sash window and 2-light casements with wooden lintels, along with a flat band at the first floor. There are entrances located at the side and rear. Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered beams, an inglenook fireplace with a bressumer, and a dog-leg staircase with balusters.
