Description
47 and 49 Main Street is a house dating from the 17th century. It is timber-framed with plaster and brick infill, topped by an old tile roof featuring brick stacks along the ridge. The building has one storey plus an attic and comprises a three-window range.
The central entrance has a 19th-century part-glazed door, with a four-panelled door to the right that is topped by a segmental brick arch. To the left of the central door, there is one two-light and three one-light casements, each with four panes. To the right of the central door is a 20th-century three-light casement. On the left of the right door, there is a 19th-century two-light casement, and to the right, a one-light casement with four panes.
In the dormer above the central door, there are two 20th-century casements, while a 19th-century four-light casement is located in the dormer over the right door. There is also a 20th-century lean-to extension to the left of the building. The interior has not been inspected. This property is included for its group value.
